Andre Dillard Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: Andre Dillard distinguishes himself from many of his offensive lineman contemporaries in the fact that he is very quick and explosive off of the line of scrimmage…Dillard plays with proper leverage…can get to the second level with ease…projects as an offensive tackle at the NFL level—where many others are being kicked inside to offensive guard…very good footwork…pass blocking experience and acumen are simply on another level…

WEAKNESSES: The issues that become abundantly clear when you watch Andre Dillard is that he does not have the power that you would prefer from your offensive lineman…does not move the opposition the way that you would like to see…his film is inconsistent…going to need a lot of work on technique…projects to have a negative impact in run blocking as we sit here today…

COMP: David Bakhtiari

OVERALL: Andre Dillard is fascinating on a number of levels…he has a different projection than many other offensive lineman in this class…many are bigger, stronger lineman who don’t have the explosiveness and the feet to handle the offensive tackle position…Dillard has the prerequisite mobility, but has to get stronger at the point of contact in order to hold up…I like Andre Dillard more than most…I think that he can get bigger and develop additional functional strength while keeping his athleticism…one statistic to keep in mind…Andre Dillard, in the pass happy game plan that is Washington State, pass blocked on TWICE as many plays than any other lineman in this class…that’s astonishing…safe pass blocking floors don’t slide too far in the draft…Andre Dillard looks like a safe projection in the mid-late 1st round of the 2019 NFL Draft…
