David Edwards Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: David Edwards can be completely dominating when it comes to run blocking…very large frame…very strong at the point of contact…plays to the whistle and doesn’t mind getting a bit nasty…has the makings of a prototypical Right Tackle…long arms…

WEAKNESSES: David Edwards has some fundamental issues to work on heading into the NFL…his footwork can be sloppy at times…doesn’t extend far enough to combat the high end speed rushers who get to the edge with ease…pass blocking is his weakness…will need much work in order to counter moves at the next level…

COMP: Gabe Carimi

OVERALL: David Edwards, just another prospect from Offensive Lineman University, Wisconsin. Edwards continued to get bigger and stronger every year after originally arriving to Madison as a Tight End. The concerns are obvious, in an ever-pass happy league, David Edwards struggles in pass blocking. He is not a candidate for Left Tackle, more of a Right Tackle or even Offensive Guard prospect. An experience offensive lineman coming out of Wisconsin, you know that he’s been coached up. I would expect David Edwards to be selected on Day Two, somewhere in between the 2nd-3rd rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft.
