STRENGTHS: Isaac Nauta has outstanding, strong hands—good luck finding some footage of him dropping the football…a true in-line TE prospect…he is very physical and plays with a nasty streak…outstanding in the blocking department…quick getting off of the line of scrimmage as a receiver and as a blocker…plays to his strengths…uses good body control to keep would be defenders away from the contested catch….
WEAKNESSES: Isaac Nauta doesn’t possess the speed you are looking for in a pass receiving TE…plays too high and without proper leverage at times—this didn’t limit him at Georgia, but will in the NFL…given his speed limitations, not much of a factor with YAC…does not cause much separation…just average athletically…
COMP: Dwayne Allen
OVERALL: No one is every going to mistake Isaac Nauta for Zach Ertz. Nauta is more of a traditional in-line blocker who excels more as a blocker than he ever will as a receiver. That being said, he does possess good hands, so he can be called upon in a pinch as a secondary TE option in the passing game. I would expect to hear Isaac Nauta’s name called around the 2nd-3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
