Jawaan Taylor Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: At 6’5 334—Jawaan Taylor looks how you would imagine a NFL offensive lineman to look…he has the size that teams covet…he has the length to contend with bigger, longer athletes in the NFL game…he has very powerful hands, and a powerful strike that can disengage pass rushers…there is no question that Jawaan Taylor is the top run blocking tackle in this class…speaking of this class–many of the prospects have the looks of lineman being pushed inside to the interior, that is certainly not the case with Jawaan Taylor…

WEAKNESSES: Jawaan Taylor is yet another offensive lineman prospect who struggles with speed and quickness on the outside…he played his entire career (for the most part) on the right side–an oddity for clearly, the Gators’ top offensive lineman…will need more refinement to develop into a plus pass blocker…

COMP: Andrus Peat

OVERALL: Jawaan Taylor has the physical stature and capabilities to succeed at the NFL level, but he will need a good deal of refinement. The good news with Jawaan Taylor is the more you watched, the more you liked…Taylor had a very good 2018 and changed many opinions, including my own…I don’t believe he has the elite footwork to play the left side, but the offensive tackle position has become virtually interchangeable at this point…Jawaan Taylor is a plug and play Right Tackle and has elevated his value to be considered a Top 10 prospect…Jawaan Taylor and Jonah Williams are battling to be the top offensive tackle in the 2019 NFL Draft.
