Jerry Tillery Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: Jerry Tillery was finally able to put it all together during his senior campaign…using good length and strength—Jerry Tillery gives opposition interior offensive lineman fits…his length allows him to tackle ball carriers where others cannot…his strength allows for him to bully offensive lineman into the backfield…plays to the whistle…good frame—has the look of a NFL defensive tackle…

WEAKNESSES: Jerry Tillery was plagued by rampant inconsistencies throughout his career…if you can get Jerry Tillery moving sideways—you’re likely to win…plays with poor leverage, which allows for offensive lineman to get in on him far too many times…needs to refine his counter moves…

COMP: DeForest Buckner

OVERALL: Jerry Tillery finally put up some numbers that caught the attention of the NFL scouting community…many will point to the fact that Tillery played this season in the best shape of his young life…the question is—can he harness this advancement in his game, and propel it forward..? I think the answer is a resounding ‘YES’…Jerry Tiller is one of those prospects who finally realized how good he can be–and he wasn’t just good in 2018–he was dominant…he is a favorite of those in the analytical community…Tillery followed up a dominant 2018 with an outstanding Scouting Combine where he showed off that high level athleticism…admittedly, Jerry Tillery is a personal favorite of mine, I have him in my Top 10 players overall (most will not)…ultimately I believe that Jerry Tillery is selected in the middle-late portion of the 1st round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
