Johnathan Abram Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: Johnathan Abram plays the game with a high level of physicality…Abram plays the game the right way…plays the game with all out effort…Abram can lower the boom on the ball-carrier…very physical at the line of scrimmage knocking would-be receivers off their route…

WEAKNESSES: Jonathan Abram plays with his hair on fire—but this backfires on him at times…plays the game with a  lack of composure to some degree…does not play technically sound…doesn’t breakdown and wrap up properly…over commits in pass defense causes him to get beat deep…tight hips effect his lack of fluidity…a lack of ball skills are concerning…you want to see him read and react quickly…lacks single high safety potential…

COMP: Kurt Coleman

OVERALL: Jonathan Abram plays with a high level intensity…he is going to need coaching and refinement at the NFL level in order to make him a more consistent player…one that does not overrun plays and takes himself out of the play…there is some talent here…he likes the physical nature of the game…he has athleticism and a solid frame…but again, Johnathan Abram is going to need a great deal of work before he’s ready to start. I like his upside, and ultimately expect him to be drafted in the late 2nd-early 3rd round range in the 2019 NFL Draft.
