Rock Ya-Sin Scouting Report

STRENGTHS: The first thing that you like about the game of Rock Ya-Sin is his nastiness and his physical approach to the game…he makes life miserable for opposing wide receivers…Rock Ya-Sin has nice length to combat bigger, stronger receivers at the NFL level…excels in press-man coverage due to his physicality and his ability to dislodge the receiver off of his route…fluid hips…you have to like the production from Rock Ya-Sin during his senior season at Temple…

WEAKNESSES: Rock Ya-Sin struggles when asked to use his fluidity and quickness…don’t like him anywhere near as much in zone coverage as I do in man…his footwork can be inconsistent…he will need additional refinement in this area at the next level…an inconsistent tackler…at times shows the ability to hit—but others stays away from the play…his hands are inconsistent as well—left a few plays out there during his time at Temple…

COMP: Kevin King

OVERALL: Rock Ya-Sin looks like a defensive back prospect that can start in the NFL…he plays the game with a physical style and projects to be a good read and react man to man defender…he is going to need some work on his footwork and a few fundamentals…if those can be corrected, there is potential to be a high-end starter…it certainly feels like Rock Ya-Sin has solidified himself as the 4th CB off the board…I believe Rock Ya-Sin is an early-mid 2nd round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
