Grant Williams Scouting Report

Player Comparison: P.J. Tucker

Analysis: Grant Williams is one of those prospects where the more tape you watch on him, and the more you listen to how his teammates and coaching staff rave about him, you just like him more and more…at the beginning of his collegiate career, Grant Williams was a very limited player…in fact, you can look at Grant Williams as one of the true catalysts of the Tennessee program and it’s resurrection…Grant Williams simply continues to work his rear end off and getting better and becoming a much more well-rounded basketball player…plays team-oriented style basketball…keeps the ball moving on offense…can guard multiple defenders on defense…his measurables are nothing to write home about, and his actual ‘talent’ is middle of the road, but this is the kind of guy who is going to come in and compete, he’s going to give you everything he has on the court, and he is going to be a great culture and locker room guy…I don’t think we are looking at a future NBA All-Star, but I do believe in Grant Williams, we see a guy who is going to stick and stay with a 10-12 year career and be a key contributor on a very good basketball team…Grant Williams should go anywhere from the mid-late 1st round in the 2019 NBA Draft.
